The man who police say drove his car into a house on Staten Island pleaded not guilty to drunk driving and vehicular assault charges Saturday.
Charles Trainor, 22, allegedly drove his car through a ground-floor apartment on Lee Avenue in Tottenville, seriously injuring a mother and her young daughter.
Trainor was sent home on $15,000 bond.
Prosecutors say Trainor was drunk but Trainor's attorney, Yan Katsnelson, says his client was having a seizure and expressed concern for the victims.
"That was his first question to me, is how are they doing," Katsnelson said. "In any accident, you are going to feel bad for anyone injured and again, this is an accident."
Officials are still awaiting the results of a toxicology test.
Trainor is due back in court Wednesday.
