A man is under arrest after police say he attacked a woman in Hudson River Park.
Police say 25-year-old Jonathan Stewart approached a 21-year-old woman sitting on a park bench Saturday morning.
He allegedly struck up a conversation with the victim before he allegedly punched her in the face and dragged her to another area of the park.
Police say he sexually assaulted her.
She was able to break free and flag down a Parks Department officer.
Police say the Parks Department officer put out a description of Stewart over the radio and NYPD officers caught him a short time later.
Among the charges Stewart faces include rape and criminal sex act.
