The Port Authority is considering adding Atlantic City International Airport to its operations to help reduce air traffic congestion.

The Port Authority announced Thursday the authorization of $3 million for a study on the subject.

The Port Authority operates Newark, JFK and LaGuardia airports, which handle more than 100 million passengers combined annually.

The South Jersey Transportation Authority, which currently operates Atlantic City's airport, didn't comment on the Port Authority's plan.
