Drivers are going to have a little more patience at the pump as the average price for a gallon of regular gas in the city will now cost you $4.23, according to AAA.

That's up 10 cents in the past week and 18 cents from a month ago.

Nationally, gas stands at $3.87 a gallon, up 16 cents from a month ago, and 24 cents from a year ago.

Prices normally drop after Labor Day, but tensions in the Middle East and refinery shutdowns from Hurricane Isaac have pushed crude oil to a four-month high.
