The man who allegedly raped and injured an Occupy Wall Street protester in Manhattan last week was arraigned on his charges Sunday.

According to the Manhattan district attorney's office, the charges against Jackie Barcliff, 44, include attempted second-degree murder, first-degree rape, a criminal sex act, first-degree assault and strangulation as a sexually motivated felony.

Authorities believe Barcliff forced a 56-year-old woman up to the elevated level of the new Pier 15 Park near the East River early in the morning of September 10, strangled and raped her and then threw her over the second-story railing.

The woman's resulting injuries included a broken pelvis, arm and leg.

She told police she recognized Barcliff from other Occupy demonstrations.

Authorities say Barcliff turned himself in Friday after seeing seeing TV news reports on the case.

He is also suspected of raping a 14-year-old girl at knifepoint in Midtown last month.

Barcliff is due back in court on Thursday.
