Police Search For Alleged Pier 15 Rapist
Police are looking for a man in connection with the rape of an Occupy Wall Street protestor in Manhattan as the movement prepares to mark its one-year anniversary.
Authorities say around 2 a.m. Monday, a 56-year-old woman was forced up to the elevated level of the new Pier 15 Park near the East River.
Police say she was raped and then thrown over the second-story railing.
The woman suffered a broken pelvis and other serious injuries.
Police say they want to speak to 44-year-old Jackie Barcliff in connection with the incident.
Barcliff was arrested on charges of assault and resisting arrest last December.
The victim said she recognized him from other Occupy demonstrations, according to police.
