Some former NFL players were in on the action Wednesday for a football clinic to help kids stay active.

More than 600 kids from around the city hit the gridiron in Chelsea for the NFL Play 60 Youth Football Festival.

Students got a one-hour workout while learning football skills from former players like Chad Pennington and Wayne Chrebet.

"Kids are starting their school year and it's a great way to reinforce the importance of being active every day for 60 minutes, eating healthy, playing outside whether it's playing football or any sport is just a huge part of growing up, being active and healthy," said NFL marketing Vice President Peter O'Reilly.

The youth football festival is one of several events taking place during NFL Kickoff week.

A concert featuring Mariah Carey and No Doubt also took place in Rockefeller Center before Wednesday's Cowboys-Giants game.
