The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers was offering Monday a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of two men behind a livery cab robbery in the Bronx.

The group gathered Sunday to draw attention to the attack.

Police say two men assaulted and robbed a driver in the Olinville section of the Bronx back on August 25.

"When you pick up street hails it becomes more dangerous for the drivers. And sometimes they're out there trying to make ends meet and it's very difficult for them to understand it until something happens."

Drivers' advocates believe the two men also are responsible for a separate incident in the same area Wednesday.

Police say a passenger stabbed a livery driver and stole his wallet.

They have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected.

Anyone with information on the cases should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
