A Brooklyn man who claimed his daughter was abusing him was charged with felony assault after police say he doused her with acid.

Investigators say Jerome Lynch, 69, splashed his 50-year-old daughter Darlene on Saturday afternoon at their home in East New York.

Authorities say he used a drain cleaner that is 98 percent sulfuric acid.

Darlene Lynch ran outside screaming for help with her skin and clothes smoking.

Witnesses say they could see her skin peeling off.

She was taken to the burn unit at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and was expected to survive.

Police say Jerome Lynch, who is in a wheelchair, had a stroke two years ago and admitted to the attack in a note written to officers.
