A teenager is dead after police say he stuck his head out of the emergency hatch of a party bus and hit an overpass on I-95.

According to the Associated Press, 16-year-old Daniel Fernandez lived in Queens and attended Saint Francis Prep High School.

Parents of kids on the bus said it was carrying about 65 students from Holy Cross and Saint Francis Prep High Schools in Queens to a Sweet 16 party in New Jersey Friday night.

Port Authority police said Fernandez put his head through the hatch and was struck while the bus went under the Fletcher Avenue Overpass in Fort Lee.

He was pronounced dead at Hackensack Hospital.
