Power has been fully restored at Co-op City after an overnight outage plunged the entire complex into the dark.
Crews worked through the early morning hours Thursday to get the power back on.
Co-op City officials say all 35 buildings at the complex went dark just after 12 a.m., affecting some 15,000 units.
Con Ed crews were working to assist in the restoration, even though Co-op City opts to generate its own electricity. Early indications are that the problem was with that private generating station.
Fire Department officials say several people were rescued from stuck elevators.
One person suffered a knee injury and was taken to the hospital.
The city's Office of Emergency Management says it's investigating the outage.
