Police are looking for an alleged hit-and-run driver whom they say killed a man in the Wakefield section of the Bronx.

Authorities said a white box truck driver hit 26-year-old Elliot Jermaine as he crossed Barnes Avenue at East 233rd Street just before 5 a.m. Tuesday, then took off.

Jermaine was pronounced dead at the hospital.

"That corner, I've seen where they've had accidents and they've ripped the whole fencing and cars flipped over," said one local resident. "People got killed over there. It's not the first time."

Residents said they'd like to see a camera installed at the intersection.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
