Newark Liberty Airport has had its second emergency landing in two days on Sunday, after a Seattle-bound United Airlines plane needed to land that morning.
There were reports of possible smoke in the cabin and cockpit aboard United Airlines Flight 409 at 9 a.m. Sunday but no one was believed to be injured.
This incident came hours after United Airlines Flight 96 took off for Berlin but had to return to Newark after one of the engines overheated.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane kept flying to burn off fuel as a precaution before landing safely back at Newark.
None of the 173 passengers and crew members on board were hurt.
