School safety agents are averaging four arrests and seven summonses a day of city students and nearly all of them are Black or Latino.

According to an analysis by the New York Civil Liberties Union, more than 95 percent of the 882 students arrested during the last school year were black or Latino.

About 71 percent of the city's student body are black or Latino.

The civil liberties group says if the Bloomberg administration wants young men of color to succeed they should "focus more resources on educating children, not arresting them."

The New York City Police Department says officers and school safety agents do good work in an unbiased manner.
