A man died Saturday after his dirt bike was struck by a police car in the Hunts Point in the Bronx.

Police say they spotted Adalberto Gonzalez, 26, driving an unlicensed dirt bike without a helmet and going the wrong way on Manida Street on Saturday afternoon.

When police tried stopping him a short time later near Randall Avenue and Faile Street, they say Gonzalez hopped onto the back of another unregistered motorcycle driven by a 28-year-old man.

That is when a police car accidentally struck the bike from behind and both men were thrown off.

The unidentified driver was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital.

Gonzalez was arrested and charged with multiple counts, including reckless endangerment.
