Police were searching Sunday for a man they say pointed a gun at an officer in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn early that morning.

Investigators say the officer answered a call of shots fired near the corner of Myrtle and Tompkins Avenues around 1 a.m.

That is when they say the suspected shooter pointed his gun at the officer.

Police say the officer fired at the suspect but missed him, and then the man took off.

Another person who was hit in the leg during the initial shooting was taken to Kings County Hospital.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
