A 3-month-old baby is recovering after falling from a window in the Bronx last night and police are now trying to figure out how it happened.

Investigators say the young girl fell out of a second floor window in a building at the Edenwald Houses just before 8 p.m.

The baby, identified as Jakeina Dubose, was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to be okay.

Sources say when her 9-year-old brother was interviewed, he originally said another child pushed the baby out the window, then said his mother did it, then recanted all his stories.

Sources tell NY1 an uncle was babysitting and they do not believe the mother was home at the time.

They also say the baby's mother has two previous cases with the Administration for Children's Services but both were later closed.
