Civilian Complaint Review Board Finds 2011 Drop In Stop-And-Frisk Complaints

There were fewer complaints filed about the NYPD's controversial stop-and-frisk policy last year, even as the total number of stops increased.
The Civilian Complaint Review Board released its 2011 status report Monday.
The group found that the total number of stop-and-frisks increased about 14 percent from the year before to an all-time high of more than 685,000.
At the same time, the number of complaints about stops decreased by 10 percent.
The report also found that people were more likely to complain about being stopped if they were searched.
