The bodies of a New York man and his friend have been found in the mountains of Peru.

Gil Weiss, 29, of Queens and Ben Horne, 32, disappeared earlier this month while climbing a 20,000 foot mountain peak.

Authorities say it appears the men plunged about a thousand feet to their deaths.

Rescue crews shot a photo of a tent believed to belong to the men.

Both were experienced climbers.

It's not clear what caused the men to fall but prior to their disappearance, Weiss posted on his blog that they had encountered some hurricane force winds during their climb.
