Macy's executives are planning to meet with elected officials from Brooklyn and Queens who are eager to bring the famous fireworks show back to the East River after a four-year stint on the Hudson, sources tell NY1.
Advocates for bringing the show back to the East River say it benefits area businesses and allow more New Yorkers to see the fireworks.
A spokesman from Macy's says next year's location has not been set.
He also notes the fireworks show has rotated over the years and will not be a permanent fixture in any one location.
