A driver is awaiting arraignment on vehicular homicide charges in connection with a hit-and-run crash in the Mount Eden section of the Bronx that killed a man and injured another.

Richard Haberman, 37, is charged with vehicular homicide, DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police say Haberman hit two men who were crossing East 170th Street Saturday morning.

Authorities also say as Haberman drove off and tried to make a right on Mound Eden Avenue, he hit an emergency vehicle responding to the scene.

"He hit them and their bodies flipped up in the air, and he just kept going," said one witness. "

"It was two bodies," said another witness. "There was one right there by this tree and there was one right there, like, in the middle. And when they turned him over, his body was just, like, dead. It was just, like, gone."

Juan Rivera-Quintana, 42, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The other victim is in critical condition.
