Firefighter Treated For Burns In Three-Alarm Harlem Fire

A city firefighter was seriously injured Thursday while responding to an apartment fire in Harlem.
FDNY officials say around 9 a.m. firefighters were called to a six-story building located at 238 East 116th Street.
Officials say the flames ravaged the top-floor apartment, which first responders say was packed with personal items.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
Officials say one of the firefighters suffered first-degree burns on his face, hands and neck.
He was treated at the hospital and released.
Five other firefighters were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
"There's a fire department expression, 'Collyer's Mansion.' This is what it's called. If you ever watch the show 'Hoarders,' that's what it is. So it takes us an extra long time to search the apartment and during the fire there's lots of flammable material," said FDNY Deputy Chief Dan Donohue.
The Red Cross says four families from the building have been placed in emergency housing.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
