Schools Required To Take Anti-Bullying Steps Statewide

The state is now hoping to protect students who are bullied.
The Dignity For All Students Act went into effect across the state on Sunday.
The law requires that public school districts find ways of cutting down on harassment.
Schools will have to train at least one staff member in anti-bullying techniques and adopt guidelines to help employees learn more about discrimination and harassment.
An aide to Manhattan Assemblyman Daniel O'Donnell, who sponsored the bill, calls it one of the country's most comprehensive anti-bullying bills.
