The newly-renovated McCarren Park Pool in Brooklyn reopened Saturday after closing early Friday because of a fight between a crowd of people and the lifeguards.

The fight broke out around 6:15 p.m. Friday, about 45 minutes before the pool was set to close for the day.

The Parks Department says there were no serious injuries.

Pool-goers we spoke with told us that there were long lines to get inside.

"We sat down and we saw the ruckus going on so we moved to the side to wait till it blew over or whatever," said one person. "It just kept going, it kept escalating or whatever."

"They were like kids, maybe 15 and they were fighting the life guards and throwing things at people," said another. "They just started fighting. That's it."

The pool reopened Thursday for the first time in 28 years following a $50 million renovation.

All New York City pools are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
