A Brooklyn teen clings to life after he was shot near his home Wednesday, just days after graduating from middle school.

Sources said 14-year-old Akeal Christopher was walking in Bushwick Wednesday night with six other boys.

Police said the boys were approached by another group at the corner of Evergreen Avenue and Cornelia Street, who asked whether they were part of a rival crew.

Two shots were fired and one hit Christopher in the face, according to police.

Police say the bullet traveled from Christopher's cheek to his brain.

They are looking into whether the shooting was gang-related.

Christopher is at Brookdale Hospital where sources tell NY1 he is on life support.

No gun was recovered from the scene.

Police are investigating the incident.
