Police are on the hunt for the man they say raped a woman on a Brooklyn rooftop early Monday morning.

Cops a man threatened a 19-year-old with a box cutter as she waited for a cab outside a building on Bergen Street in Crown Heights.

Cops say he then dragged her up the stairs to the roof and assaulted her.

Sources say a man did manage to chase the suspect away.

One resident says building security is a problem.

"This building is never secure," the resident said. "It's never locked. It's never closed. You can access this building at anytime you want. It's not like you have to ring a bell to go see anybody. No, you can just walk inside and go see whoever."

The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital for treatment.

Police have no description of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
