Four men are facing bribery charges after allegedly offering a teenage girl $500,000 for her silence in the sex abuse trial of an ultra-Orthodox Jewish man.
Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes said that 48-year-old Abraham Rubin offered the bribe to the Brooklyn girl and her boyfriend, telling them justice would be served if they didn't testify against 53-year-old Nechemya Weberman.
Weberman, the girl's therapist, is accused of molesting her from ages 12-15 inside his home and office.
His lawyer says Weberman had no knowledge of the alleged bribery.
The other three men indicted with Rubin are brothers and were also charged with bribing a witness, witness tampering and coercion.
All of the men pleaded not guilty.
Hynes's office recently came under fire for the handling of allegations of sexual abuse within the Orthodox community.
