More than 30 years after the slaying of two New York women, a convicted California serial killer was arraigned Thursday in connection with the deaths.

68-year-old Rodney Alcala was extradited from California and handed over to the NYPD Wednesday.

He pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

Alcala allegedly strangled Cornelia Crilley in 1971 and is also charged in connection to the death of Ellen Hover, whose body was found in 1978.

Alcala was indicted last year after the Manhattan District Attorney's cold case unit re-examined the cases.

He's being held without bail and his next court date is scheduled for Oct. 30.

The former photographer was sentenced to death in California in 2010 for the murders of four women and a 12-year-old girl.
