New York State lawmakers passed a bill Wednesday that could alleviate one parking headache for city drivers.
The State Legislature approved a measure designed to protect drivers from so-called predatory parking tickets.
Drivers would not have to pay tickets issued while they are walking to a muni-meter to purchase a receipt or while walking back to their car to display it.
Lawmakers hope the measure will address concerns from drivers who feel they are unfairly targeted by traffic agents.
