A developer has been selected to bring a hotel and residential complex to Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Mayor Bloomberg announced Tuesday that the park's board approved a joint venture between Toll Brothers City Living and Starwood Capital Group.
The two companies will develop a nearly 550,000-square-foot complex that will include a luxury hotel and residential complex at Pier 1.
The hotel will be called "1 Hotel" and will include 200 rooms, a restaurant, banquet, and meeting spaces, as well as retail shops, a spa and fitness center.
Along with a 159-unit residential complex, the development is expected to create 210 permanent and 300 construction jobs.
The development team expects to break ground next summer and open by the fall of 2015.
The project is expected to bring in nearly $120 million towards park maintenance.
