Queens Man Attacked Wife With Meat Cleaver, Police Say

Police in Queens say a man was charged a man with assault, attempted homicide and criminal possession of a weapon after he attacked his wife with a meat cleaver Wednesday morning.

Officials say Kang Wang, 53, struck his wife in the head multiple times inside their apartment located at 4211 Parsons Boulevard in Flushing.

Police sources say the couple's 22-year-old son broke up the attack.

The 52-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police were able to recover the meat cleaver from the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
