More than a dozen people are under arrest after a raid on a Manhattan building allegedly used for illegal gambling and shady medical practices.

According to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement official, the agency spent more than a year investigating an illegal casino-type operation at a building on East Broadway in Chinatown.

He said 11 people potentially linked to Asian organized crime were arrested Monday.

"This type of sophisticated operation, where you have a building where at least 4 floors were dedicated to different types of gambling-type dens from mahjong to poker to computer-based games, that's not something that we see a lot of," said ICE official James T. Hayes Jr.

In addition, the state Attorney General's office says two Queens men were arrested in the same building for allegedly practicing medicine without a license.

They're accused of injecting people with unknown substances and giving them unidentified pills.

The Customs official says while the two raids were unconnected, they were coordinated so they would happen at the same time.
