Another Department of Education employee is facing sex abuse charges after allegedly making sexual comments to an 8-year-old student.
The incident happened at PS 84, The Lillian Weber School, on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
Police say Hany Abdalla, 35, was arrested Wednesday and charged with endangering the welfare of a child along with sex abuse.
DOE officials say Abdalla has worked as a teaching assistant at the school since 2007.
Parents say this incident and arrests at other schools have them worried about their child's safety.
"If this can happen at a school where parents are so involved they're at the school everyday, it's really frightening," said one concerned parent.
"My grandson goes in here, I don't know what's going to happen," said a concerned guardian. "It seems like every school is doing the same thing. Every time you turn around there's a teacher that's messing with the children."
Officials say Abdalla has been suspended without pay.
So far this year, eight other DOE employees have been accused of crimes of a sexual nature against students.
