An New York City Police Department officer who was stabbed in the head last week is out of intensive care.

Eder Loor is now in a regular recovery room after spending several days in the I-C-U following brain surgery.

He was stabbed in the temple while responding to a call for an emotionally disturbed person.

Loor and his partner came across 26-year-old Terrence Hale last week.

They told him they were going to take him to the hospital, and that is when Hale allegedly pulled a three-inch knife and stabbed Loor in the head.

"He's lucid. But clearly, he's in a lot of pain and discomfort, but he's got a lot of spirit," Kelly said on Monday.

Hale is charged with attempted murder, assault and weapons possession.
