The next stop for former New York Governor David Paterson's long career is on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority board.
Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday named Paterson to the seat vacated by Nancy Shevell.
Shevell resigned back in January shortly after marrying Paul McCartney.
Since leaving the governor's office at the end of 2010, Paterson has hosted a daily radio talk show on WOR.
Paterson's nomination will need to be confirmed by the State Senate.

The Manhattan native said he understands how vital transportation is to the health of the region.
"It's a unique interest in understanding that transportation is the real conduit between New York's success and the quality of life that New York's citizens' experience," said Paterson.
Soon after the announcement, transit supporters hailed the decision, saying they felt the governor will be an effective advocate for the system, and in particular for disabled riders.
