Some history buffs are marking the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's ill-fated voyage by visiting the spot where the ship sank.

About 440 passengers boarded the "Journey" ocean liner before it departed from Manhattan's West Side Tuesday night.

The cruise will make its way to Halifax, Nova Scotia where more than 100 victims of the Titanic are buried.

A memorial service will be held at the spot where the massive boat sank.

Across the Atlantic, more than 1,300 people packed the MS Balmoral memorial cruise.

The ship will retrace the path of the Titanic's maiden and only voyage.

On April 10, 1912, the Titanic set sail from Southampton, England bound for New York.

It hit the iceberg on the night of April 14.
