U.S. Pentagon officials confirmed Tuesday alleged September 11th mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will be arraigned early next month at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Mohammed and four other alleged co-conspirators will be arraigned May 5 on charges including terrorism and murder.
The hearing at the military base will take one to two days.
The men will face a joint trial and could all be given the death penalty.
President Barack Obama originally wanted to try Mohammed and the others in a Manhattan civilian court, but was forced to shift it back to Guantanamo following a public backlash.
