A Virginia man is under arrest after NYPD officials say he tried to sneak into a Times Square subway station with a loaded gun.

Investigators say they discovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun on Travis Marks of Richmond, Virginia, after two officers spotted him going through a subway exit gate at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue Friday evening.

The officers discovered Marks was carrying the weapon after they saw him trying to get rid of a plastic bag with a white powdery substance inside.

Marks is now facing charges that include criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The arrest comes a little more than a week after a man was accused of jumping a turnstile with a loaded gun at the 14th street PATH station.
