Testimony continued Monday in the corruption trial of former State Senator Pedro Espada Jr., as jurors heard from tenants who rented space at the former senator's Soundview Health Clinic in the Bronx.

Witnesses testified Espada's janitorial company overcharged for minimal services while renting.

They also made it clear that the rent arrangement was confusing since they did not know exactly where their money was going.

Prosecutors argue Espada operated the rent-scheme to steal money from the not-for-profit.

The former state senator is accused of stealing more than a half-million dollars from the health network.
