A handyman accused of killing a Manhattan building cleaner and hiding her body in an air-conditioning duct was convicted of second-degree murder Monday.

After deliberating for two days, jurors also found Joseph Pabon, 27, guilty of first-degree kidnapping.

Prosecutors say Pabon smothered 46-year-old Eridania Rodriguez with industrial tape in July 2009.

Four days after the mother of three disappeared, her body was found in an air-conditioning duct on the 12th floor at 2 Rector Street, where both she and Pabon worked.

Police say Pabon's DNA was found on Rodriguez's body and that Pabon had scratches on his body.

"The defendant hunted down this victim in this case, a co-worker and mother of three, like a predator," Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. said in a statement. "He senselessly and brutally murdered her, and discarded her body as if it were trash."

Pabon faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on May 11.
