Beauchamp, 33, is facing two misdemeanor charges of attempted assault and harassment.

Investigators say Beauchamp was drunk and got into a fight with Joshua Basin, 20, on Friday night at the L train stop at Bedford Avenue.

Both men wound up falling on the tracks, and Basin was hit and killed by the train.

Beauchamp allegedly got back onto the platform and escaped.

The suspect was seen on surveillance video leaving the scene.

NY1 reached out to the Brooklyn district attorney's office to comment on why Beauchamp is facing these particular charges.

Meanwhile, dozens of Basin's friends joined his family at a Wednesday wake in Ozone Park, Queens.

"He was my life, and now he's gone. So I don't have much, but I have God," said Zena Basin, Joshua's mother, who was mourning the loss of her only child. "I know that he's in heaven right now. He's looking out for me to have the strength to give him justice. That's all I want."

Mourners said they wanted Beauchamp to be charged with killing Basin.

"I am extremely angry. I don't understand how they can charge, what do they call it, attempted assault?" said Zena Basin.

"What, is he going to go back out onto the street after this? What is he going to get, like six months in jail and we don't get Josh any more? At all, ever?" said one mourner.

Friends said Basin wanted to pursue acting or a singing career or become a psychologist.

"I met him once I came out of prison and everything, and he basically took me under his wing. He showed me how to look at life," said a mourner at the wake.

Basin's funeral will be held Thursday in St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church in Howard Beach, Queens.
