Investigators with the New York City Police Department have identified the so-called "Vaseline Bandit".
Investigators want to speak with Luis Gonzalez in connection with 14 burglaries in upper Manhattan dating back to September.
Police say he covers the peephole on doors with petroleum jelly to obstruct the view, giving himself time to get away if someone encounters him at the door.
Police say he's stolen jewelry, money and electronics.
Gonzalez is described as 40 years old and clean shaven.
He has been seen wearing a Yankees hat and dark glasses.
Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
