Another Fashion Week has come to an end, and now a new documentary is looking at the history of the event.
"The Tents: The New York Fashion Week Documentary" chronicles how New York City became a global fashion destination.
Participants say they wanted to provide a history lesson in addition to a behind-the-scenes view of fashion week.
"This is an important story. I think that there are thousands and thousands of people who don't know that there ever was a fashion week that wasn't in the tents," said Fern Mallis, Fashion Week pioneer.
“I remember looking from the outside of the tents on the inside as well, and just wondering, okay, what's going on in there? You know, where's the hype and how do I come into this place? I think I share that with a lot of people. But in fact, it's a business that's running inside of there, and it's a business that affects us all," said Marcus K. Jones, executive producer of the film.
"The Tents" is available on iTunes and Time Warner Cable Movies on Demand, Channel 1000.
