The state Federation of Hispanic Chambers of Commerce on Thursday honored legislators who helped Hispanic businesses flourish.
NY1's Jeanine Ramirez emceed the annual Legislative Awards event at Brooklyn Borough Hall.
Among those honored was State Assemblyman Jose Rivera and City Councilwoman Diana Reyna.
"We're not trust fund babies, correct? We have to go outside into our own family networks, and they are our investors, and then we are able to flourish," said Reyna.
Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz said it was fitting to hold this year's event in his borough, where Hispanic-owned businesses have grown significantly.
