The doctor who helped identify September 11th-related illnesses has died.
Dr. Stephen Levin worked as the director of the World Trade Center Worker and Volunteer Medical Screening Program.
He not only identified 9/11-related diseases but worked to get victims treatment.
Dr. Levin worked with Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and others on the creation of the Zadroga Act.
"He was really the leader for the medical response for at least four years, began the 9/11 Health Monitoring System, which was the first health response program we put in place," said Maloney.
Dr. Levin also worked as the co-medical director at Mt. Sinai.
He was 71 years old.
