Activist Cites Own Past With NYPD At Stop-And-Frisk Rally

A man who claims he was pulled over by police as payback for filming a stop and frisk over the summer was joined by protesters Thursday during a rally outside Manhattan Supreme.
They say this is the latest example of the New York City Police Department's out of control racial profiling and stop and frisk tactics.
Activist Joseph "Jazz" Hayden posted a video of the incident on his website.
He says it's of police conducting a stop and frisk in July and claims they are the same officers who on December 2 pulled him over, illegally searched his car, arrested him for possession of a pen knife and held him for 48 hours.
"It's not the gun that they fear, it's the camera that they fear. And that's why I'm here today. Simply because of their fear of me covering them, even though I tell them, in all sincerity, that I'm here on their side," said Hayden. "I'm here to see them provide the community with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. But that's not enough. They still want to shine the flashlights in my face."
NY1 has reached out to the NYPD for comment on the claims.
