Some community leaders in Long Island City are rallying against another strip club opening in the neighborhood.

Protesters gathered outside of the Gypsy Rose Cabaret on 21st Street Thursday.

They are hoping to keep the club from obtaining a liquor license after an initial request by the cabaret was postponed.

They say the club is an eyesore near the exit of the Queensboro bridge.

"We have said no. This area is full of families, full of young children going to school. There is a high school a block away," said Queens City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer.

"A place like this has no business here. It would take us back to the bad old days of decades ago where sex-related businesses were in this neighborhood. This is no place for an establishment like this,” said Queens State Senator Michael Gianaris.

The State Liquor Authority will hold a final hearing on the Gypsy Rose's liquor license request next week.
