NYPD: Suspicious Packages At Credit Suisse Building Harmless

By: NY1 News

A Manhattan office building was briefly evacuated as a precaution Wednesday afternoon after reports of two suspicious packages.

The New York City Police Department said the packages in question were located inside the mailroom at Credit Suisse headquarters located at 1 Madison Avenue.

Officials say they were alerted after workers X-rayed them.

They were later determined to be harmless.

The heightened alert came after a bomb package addressed to Deutsche Bank chief executive Josef Ackermann was sent to the company's Frankfurt headquarters last week.
