Sources tell NY1 Cuomo will veto the bill that would allow livery cabs to pick up street hails unless it is amended to require that an entire new set of yellow cab medallions go specifically to taxis accessible to the disabled.

The bill currently calls for for up to 1,500 new yellow cab medallions, but only 569 of those would be accessible to disabled riders.

As of now, only 231 of the city's taxi are accessible.

Yellow cab drivers who spoke with NY1 say they're against any plan that would allow livery cabs to pick up street hails.

"It's going to destroy our business and it's going to make the medallion owner cry," said one cab driver.

"Yeah it's going to take away the business, but nothing you can say, because the mayor of the city can do that, so nothing you can do," said another.

"It's not fair, we drive the medallion cab and we pay more rate and the medallion rate is more costly, like a million dollars. So the livery cab, they have no right to pick up," said a third.

A civil court filing by the U.S. Attorney's office in October charged the city was not in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act when it comes to providing taxis for the disabled.

In response, the mayor's office released a statement saying, "We are working collaboratively with the Governor and the Legislature to reach a positive resolution."
