Twenty Occupy Wall Street protesters were arrested Wednesday during a rally in Madison Square Park.
Hundreds traveled uptown early in the morning to protest the annual Aerospace and Defense Finance Conference.
The conference brings together investors, military officials, and representatives from the arms industry.
Protesters claim those attending the conference are profiting from war and have exerted too much influence over politicians.
"Our main audience is the people of the world to talk about how Wall Street is making profits off of war production," said one protester.
"These wars of extravagance that we have had for the past decade are bleeding our country at a time when we need to draw in and heal up a little bit. We can't withdraw completely from the world stage, but we can't keep spending the money that we're doing," said another.
Protesters are also expected outside President Barack Obama's scheduled events this evening.
